Jab Strong Fierce (Street Fighter Tribute show)

WORDS FROM THE HERO

STREET FIGHTER II has been A pivotal franchise in the childhood of The Hobbyshop Hero. When the Arcade game was 1st released. They put one in the Burger king in my neigborhood (TOWN-N-COUNTRY - on the corner of Waters and Hanley) Tho I know this sounds like an Exaggeration it is far from it. We would litterally be at that burgerking all the time and to this day (No lie) I have never been beat a full two rounds In Street fighter II or Street Fighter II Turbo, Now that all changed onced they added Marvel characters and all this crazy new moves that I just never had the patience to attempt to learn all the new stuff... I also Remember Vividly the Day Before Street Fighter II was released for the Super Nintendo how Excited I was. The next day my best friend Shwagner and I went to the local Video Rental store (Video View) which is long gone due to Blockbuster shutting down all mom and pop rental shops... And we were the 1st to rent the game, and right as we grabbed it, another kid tried to fight us for it.... Ahhhhh The Memories that this Franchise has brought me!!!!!

(If you have any SFII Stories, Leave em in the Comment section, I wonder if anyone reading this was as involved in Streetfighter II when it was 1st released as we were!)

On w/ the Match!!!

ROUND 1....

FIGHT!

Gallery Nucleus Presents
JAB STRONG FIERCE
A Street Fighter Tribute Art Exhibition

April 25, 2009 - May 11, 2009

Street Fighter, for all of the accolades it has received for its refined gameplay and revolutionary stature (practically inventing the fighting genre and all), is also a damn good looking game. From Street Fighter II on (not including original Street Fighter or that abomination with "Future Ken" on the NES), the series has always been aesthetically pleasing. It owes a great deal of its look to Capcom's art team, which has seen the series evolve from the arcades to the anime stylings of the Alpha series, the fluidity of SFIII, and now to the jump to 3D in Street Fighter IV. Even their promotional materials (posters, covers, comics, etc.) are excellent works that would be worthy of display.

Nucleus and I am 8-bit are proud to present, with support from CAPCOM, a Street Fighter tribute group art exhibition. In celebration of the new Street Fighter movie and SF4, we will create an exhibition of Street Fighter influenced art that all Street Fighter, video game, and art fans will enjoy.
