Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn’t seen it)

WORDS from the HERO

"HaHa" 1st of all, I will say I have never been A Huge "FANBOY" of Starwars, I did Enjoy it, but I would never put up a poster or buy the action figures etc, In fact. I dont even care to own the movies. However, I know alot of SW Fans are out there and this has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever come Across. So this post is dedicated to my EX Ladiefriend's Older brother AKI who is a good friend of mine who is the Biggest Starwars fanatic I have ever known in real life!

On a Side note. There is a huge reason for me typing "Hahahaha" out intead of using the "ROFLMAO" or "LMAO" and such and that is, well...Its pretty gay hahaha, but the main reason is STARWARS.

lol

Come on! I can't be the only one who thinks of this damn thing when someone types out

lol

Anywho, Peace to one of my favorite sites for posting this up, so I could show it to you lovely people =)

www.todayandtomorrow.net

Joe Nicolosi , his friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When he asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So he took out his voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.

Then he created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

Excellent!

What is the difference between Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII?

New high quality scans of Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII

This question comes up a lot, so let's get this cleared up.

They are two seperate games set in the same universe, but not directly related to each other. Contrary to popular misconception, Versus is not a spin off or derivative of XIII. It is neither a sequel, but a wholly independent story which unfolds in a different world with different characters. The two games basically share the 'Crystal' mythology as part of Square Enix's Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation of a series of games created under the banner of Final Fantasy XIII.

Although similar in concept to the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, Fabula Nova Crystallis, which means "the New Tale of the Crystal" in Latin, is based on different worlds and different characters, though will be "ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos."

They will also play differently, for example XIII will play as a traditional turn-based RPG, while Versus XIII will be more of a real-time action RPG. .

Fabula Nova Crystallis Introduction
During its E3 2006 press event, Square Enix revealed world-premiere footage of Fabula Nova Crystallis. This latest project in the multi-platinum Final Fantasy series will encompass the simultaneous development of original titles for numerous platforms including the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, and mobile phones.

Fabula Nova Crystallis, defined in Latin as "the new tale of the crystal," is made up of several different titles based on variations of the Final Fantasy XIII universe. However, while each title in the project features different characters, different worlds, and different stories, all are ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos.

Currently, development for Fabula Nova Crystallis entails two titles for the PlayStation 3 system: Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. In addition, Final Fantasy Agito XIII is also in development for mobile phones and PSP handheld. However, the three new titles are only the beginning of the evolution of Fabula Nova Crystallis, with more announcements regarding other facets of the project scheduled for the near future.

One myth, countless stories. This is the concept behind Square Enix's groundbreaking new take on entertainment.

- Final Fantasy XIII (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PlayStation 3)
- Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Mobile and PSP)

Square Enix has registered the trademark Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII in the U.S. Patent Office on May, 2006, but haven't released any official details about the game since then. The game is rumored to be Square Enix's next generation MMORPG.

Final Fantasy XIII

In Final Fantasy XIII, you take the role of a young female protagonist with strawberry-blonde hair. She goes by the codename 'Lightning' to hide her true identity, though she does not know it herself. It is believed she is suffering from some form of amnesia.

Character designer Tetsuya Nomura was asked to create a "female version of Cloud from Final Fantasy VII", and has described her as "not very feminine".

In a recent interview, he described her character as "serious, and unforgiving". When she meets other people, she's not the kind who changes according to them, but instead she is a kind of individualistic person who gives off the image of someone who unswervingly follows the guidelines within herself...

Two yellow stripes can be seen on Lightning's left shoulder, to possibly signify her rank or social status, indicating she is or was a solider at some point..

Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Trailer

In Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the protagonist is a yet unnamed male, with dark blue and grey hair and crimson eyes. No he is not Cloud, despite any similarity they have in appearance. For the sake of convenience, let's call him Storm, to signify the whirlwind effect when he draws his weapons or uses them as a shield. He is the last heir to a royal family, ruling the only remaining city in the world which controls magical Crystals.

According to recent interview with Nomura, the protagonist is "not a character with a Squall-like or Cloud-like personality as people would think. Nomura refers to him “out of bounds” and describes his personality as an "overabundance of idiosyncrasy", that when he speaks, the impression of him will change considerably and may even cause people to "dislike his type".

Nomura also mentioned they plan to redo his design. His hair is supposed to give a different impression of his personality from the front than back. For example, from the front, his hair is calm and tame, but from the back, it is quite intense and violent-looking.

Not much is known about game's battle system other than it will be an action-oriented RPG similar to Kingdom Hearts, but more realistic with some elements of a third-person shooter similar to Dirge of Cerberus. Nomura has stated that he aims to create previously unseen "tricky" battle sequences, reminiscent of the CGI film, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

New interviews have stated Nomura's wish to push away from "light magical" styles (specifically refererring Kingdom Hearts) and opt for a much bleaker realistic world. He wants the characters to be perceived as believable humans that the player can relate to rather than simply fabricated characters.

You can find Info here and there about Agito, I'll just let you know it will be release on the PsP.
All I know is that "Crisis Core" FF7 for PsP was one of the greatest games Ive played.

Excerpts from a bunch of interviews in the latest issue of LEVEL magazine:

About Fabula Nova Crystallis in general:

Motomu Toriyama: "The development of the three games was started at the same time and we gathered to try and find a common platform to stand on and try to build from. But since then, we've been working completely independently of each other. Each game is evolving in its own direction and take place in separate worlds with their own main characters. There exists basically no cooperation between the different teams. I wouldn't even want to claim that we communicate with each other."

Tetsuya Nomura: "The only similarity between the games that you can find is in the vague crystal theme."

About Crisis Core:

Hajime Tabata: "There's a reason why this game is released last [note: what about the 20 years of FFVII?]. This is one of Square Enix's most important moments, when we're about to tell the story that leads up to maybe the most beloved RPG of them all. So we've taken our time and prepared us well."

Q: "How much do you listen to the opinions of the fans?"

A: "All I can say is that you encounter characters from the original game in Crisis Core. But you have to have in mind that this is a game about Zack and the Soldier organization. So even if the fans' opinions are important, I won't risk to destroy the central theme by throwing in loved characters who would disrupt the balance in the game."

About FFXIII:

Q: "How does it effect you, and Square Enix, that FFXIII is such a big project that it's been divided in a lot of separate projects?"

Toriyama:"We've definitely been forced to change our habits and work in new ways. In the center you have the crystals that define Final Fantasy and unite the three XIII projects. But every single game is evolving in its own direction and take place in their own worlds with their own characters. Nomura has designed Lightning, but she's our character."

Q: "So who is she then?"

A: "I can't say much more than that she likes to call herself that. And that she's a female character who's vastly different compared to Yuna."

Q: "Ten years ago, Final Fantasy VII became a symbol to the entire PlayStation format. Could FFXIII come to mean as much for the PS3?"

A:"FFVII was a milestone in PS history. The game changed the entire RPG genre and set a lot of new trends. Strictly content-wise, the theme alternated between fantasy and futurism and we're doing something similar with FFXIII. The game mixes a new kind of fantasy with futuristic elements that have never been seen in a game before. It's very interesting to explore the new hardware. When you've managed to harness the power in it the results become unbelievable. We're accomplishing things you hardly can manage without the PS3."

Q:"So there will be a mix between fantasy and sci-fi again?"

A: "Last time, our time worked with the Asian-influenced world in FFX and wanted to do something completely different this time around. So we took the futuristic theme to its limit. FFXIII will truly define the term futurism. You've never seen anything like it."

Q:"You've worked at Square Enix for a long time, but this is the first time you're in charge of such a big FF project. How do you cope with the pressure?"

A: "The difference between the side projects and the big games, the one with numbers, isn't really that big. I know I have to deliver, but I knew that when I worked on Revenant Wings as well. The pressure from outside is almost worse. A lot of people view FFXIII as a title that can decide the success for the PS3. But I can't think about that. We've had a lot of time on our hands to prepare our game, and now we're working full-speed."

Q: "If you look past the visuals, how will FFXIII be a game for the next generation?"

A: "It's never solely about graphics, but at the same time you can't deny the meaning of the looks for the experience as a whole. The technique allows us to create characters so realistic that the player perceives them as being alive. It adds something emotional to the entire game experience. Which in its turn makes the combat system feel different since you care about the characters and you feel for them in a way that you've never done before. When you play FFXIII, it feels like you're controlling something that's not a 3D model, but a real creature."

About Versus:

Nomura: "There's been times when I've wanted to take FF in a completely different direction than the game's producer has wanted. I'm not saying that his or mine opinions have been right or wrong, just different. One thing I've always wanted to explore deeper is human emotions. By going in that direction, you risk to make the target group for the game narrower, and FF is appreciated by a very large audience. But with Versus XIII, it feels like the right time to take that risk. Since the script isn't done yet, I still don't know exactly how far I dare to go, but I know I want to squeeze humanity out of these characters. I want Versus to feel in the entire body."

Q: "You've also said that this is going to be the darkest FF game ever."

A: "When I produced Kingdom Hearts, I was in a world so bright that I almost got blinded. So now I want to do something completely different. Maybe it has something to do with my love for extremes. FFvXIII is about man in the real world. In that sense, the game will contain less fantasy than usual We've created some dark environments and shown them in our trailers. But the entire game won't look like that; we've only just begun."

Q: "When you talk about the real world, do you mean modern life on Earth?"

A: "I don't want the characters in the game to feel fabricated, so my focus lies on designing them through their humanity. They have to be perceived as humans, as someone you and I could meet in reality. The world in Versus is reminiscent with the one we live in today. That doesn't mean I'm inspired by locations or persons that actually exist, it's more of a feeling that the characters and locations are believeable, like something you'd be able to find in your daily life. I want to take this concept and make it into an FF experience. That's the challenge I've given myself, anyway."

Q: "So that's how you will use the power of the PS3?"

A: "The PS3 is such a powerful machine that the technical possibilities have a great influence over the game design and in the end, the entire game experience. I can't go into details about my ideas, but many of them would never have been possible during the last console generation."

Ze Freank presents - Draw Pictures With The Tone Of Your Voice

Voice Drawing

Ze Frank has once again designed something to spend countless hours using instead of doing things you should be hahaha. This time around he created a voice drawing tool, where the tone of your voice determines the tool’s direction.

Controls:

  • A low volume tone will make the line curve counterclockwise
  • A medium volume tone will make it go straight
  • A high volume tone will turn the line to the right.

click HERE to use the program

(a microphone is needed - some computers have the ability to record without using A Microphone but by the internal mic in the computer, tho it prob wont be as accurate).

All the photos were created by Frank himself, but Ill be honest, I Tried it and it isnt easy to make something accurate, So I just Started Rhyming hahaha maybe I'll start posting th visual version of my songs hahahah.

Maybe not.

Have Fun

RESPECT THE ARCHITECT!

Lachine Canal Loft

Photos by Steve Montpetit - www.stevemontpetit.com
Visit the L. McComber website - here

L. McComber Architects provided a design solution for the owners of this 700 square foot loft in Montreal, Canada on the Lachine Canal (Lachine translates to “The China” in English). They needed to create a room for a newborn baby, but the issue w/ A lot of homes in desirable area's tends to be A lack of space. So, they suspended A platform bed made of curved douglas fir plywood and supported it w/ tubular steel. Now, I dont intend on having A child for quite some time but I definitely can take A Valuable Design Memory from this post. One thing about The Hobbyshop HERO is I've always been into Design, Art , etc. My grandfather & Uncle were/are both architects / Engineers, so in highschool I took Drafting Classes, that was the same year I would Release my 1st 12" (i.e. single world wide on Vinyl) w/ my group EQUILIBRIUM[Celph Titled, Majik Most & myself, Dutchmassive]

http://www.tampahiphop.com/images/labels/thumbs/equilibrium-fahrenheit.jpg

The single was "Fahrenheit 813" b/w "Critical Conditions" (feat. The Boogiemonsters) & "Windows 98" and from that point on my path in life greatly shifted from drafting and design to Hiphop, Hiphop & Hiphop FullTime. I would always keep my love for design and arch thru-out the years, The Relationship I was in for the most of my music career was one that kept me Constantly Inspired, We both had a extreme passion for music and Art and guess what? Design and Architect/furniture as well, So always going to Obscure/modern furniture stores and admiring designs was a great thing. I always had Ideas of how I wanted my studio to look, and my bedroom and I always wanted to have a Room Dedicated to my (HOBBYSHOP HERO-TYPE-ISH) Action Figures, Robots, Japanimation etc....

It wasnt until my last and most Recent Relationship that the missing piece was put in place. Once again I found someone who shared a Love for Music, Art, Etc and She Also had good taste and A desire for Unique Designs and such, but she got me watching...HGTV (hahaha) I know, I know. (the Home & Garden Network!?!?) but hey, Besides Music and Art, I love Nature and Design, I just never Thought about doing it myself, So now with All the Experiences and Inspirations I have had up until now have been Great for me and it that reason, I Post things like this. Now, Ive Spent 90% of my Life living in apartments so the Reality is I couldnt pull this type of design off if I even wanted to at the moment. but when the time is Right. you better Believe you will be seeing A DUTCHMASSIVE | THE HOBBYSHOP HERO edtion of MTV CRIBS.....well Maybe not, Maybe (RappersIknow-Cribs) hahahahaha

aiight. Peace.

WORDS FROM THE HERO

I first came across www.Thelonelyisland.com in 2004, but it seems they had been around (on the Web) since 01. I was very very Impressed by the type of Comedy they pulled off because it was the same type of sense of humor alot of people I know have. Off beat, off the wall Cult Classic, very witty etc. A few people I know of Have this direction of comedy only more advanced, Majik Most & Joe Riga. Tho I must say the combined minds of Jorma, Andy and Akiva are A wonderful team. The 1st thing I watched at the Lonely Island was the Awsome Town shows, There was a Pilot for Fox and one for Comedy central with more of A Adult theme. Both very similar just a few different sketches in each one. I Proceeded to watch episodes of "The BU" the Spoof on The O.C. and Everything and I mean everything Else the website had to offer. With out A Doubt, When I came Across the Video for "STORK PATROL" I knew for sure these cats where definitely hiphop fans. I Decided to Put some Extra effort into this post and make it pretty much FEATURE PACKED. It is a new time and new generation and they are one of the leaders, not in a "Bossy" way but more in a "Paved the way"....well...."way" hahaha..... The Digital ERA hahhh

Breakthrough musical act, The Lonely Island (Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone), may appear to be expanding their digital domain with their 2009 Universal Republic Records' debut album, Incredibad, but according to Samberg, becoming a "3 man musical wrecking crew" (MTV News' description of the debut CD) was never on their to-do list. "Well, we don't actually have a to-do list," says Samberg. "But we have always wanted to do an album."

What they have delivered is an indescribably hilarious effort packed with brand new satirical offerings and signature musical versions of groundbreaking digital shorts that have transformed sketch comedy and the internet. Among the breakout gems included on Incredibad is the Emmy winning YouTube sensation "D*** In A Box," featuring superstar Justin Timberlake, which snagged a record-breaking 28 million views before being permanently housed at NBCs online destinations NBC.com and Hulu, and the more recent follow-up "J**z In My Pants," which had 15 million views in it's first month on YouTube.

Incredibad's generous helping of never released surprises will also please followers of The Lonely Island's video and musical escapades. Audio renditions of past webisodes and SNL shorts round out the Universal Republic release, including fan-favorites such as "Lazy Sunday (The Chronicles of Narnia Rap)," which first aired on SNL in December of 2005, becoming a YouTube phenomenon and helping to brand the fledgling site as the internet's premiere must-watch online destination. Other Lonely Island classics rocking Incredibad include "Natalie's Rap" (featuring actress Natalie Portman and Chris Parnell), "Space Olympics," the Rasta-wannabe track, "Ras Trent," and the deadpan "We Like Sportz." The trio's inspired new musical creations feature a diverse arsenal of guest-artists including hip hop impresario T-Pain, Grammy winning superstar Norah Jones, The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, Bay area rapper and The Click founder E-40, and comedy hellion and Tenacious D-veteran Jack Black.

Friends since childhood (they hail from Berkeley, California) – The Lonely Island coined their name from the cramped west coast apartment they shared as comic start-ups. Their story of why they no longer have to share the same physical address has always been fueled by their love of music and, well, their incredible funniness. "The three of us have been friends forever," says Samberg. "Since junior high and high school, and then we all eventually moved in together, starting out, basically, doing joke music. Our first projects were always about mixing music with comedy."

Their willingness to embrace the digital possibilities of comedy was christened by the launch of their own website in 2001, thelonelyisland.com, which was very much in sync with a growing internet fan base that eagerly followed their online antics. The group forged a unique creative partnership, rolling amid the chaos with what Jorma Taccone has called "4:00 AM in the morning bursts of inspiration." "We all had very bad assistant and reception jobs, so we wouldn't care about being late and tired. We would just stay up and work on silly stuff." The group honed their timing and writing skills via cut-and-paste webisodes, often featuring hip hop inspired verse and their singularly cockeyed world view. Their keen understanding of the been-there-done-that impatience of the online audience hummed in perfect step with comedy fans' increasing appetite for quickly-staged humor served up in bite-sized helpings.

The Lonely Island also became a mainstay of the L.A. short-comedy film culture launched by Channel 101, a constantly evolving webisode/film contest where attendees could vote for their favorite five-minute comedy video, and whose alumnus includes Jack Black, Drew Carey, Sarah Silverman and even Flavor Flav. The triumvirate's breakout skits and experimental embeds would eventually snag them pilot deals with more established comedy holding companies like Comedy Central and Fox, as well as a plumb writing gig for the MTV Movie Awards that would lead to a successful audition with Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.

The roots of their music-influenced skits - what Samberg likes to call their ‘incredibadibleness' - can definitely be gleamed in Lonely Island's early musical offerings: Pre-SNL gems such as "Just Two Guyz," "Bing Bong Brothers," (both on the new DVD), "Stork Patrol," and others, including an mp3 called "The Heist," which Samberg says served as the template for future YouTube sensations like "Lazy Sunday." Jorma pointed out that, "Back then, we were just recording on a cheap microphone in our bedroom. Now we're recording on a slightly more expensive microphone in an office, that's pretty much the only difference." In 2006 the New York Times credited The Lonely Island with reinventing SNL as a digital go-to destination. Suddenly, the versatile twenty-somethings found themselves being lauded as the internet's most innovative and successful pop culture satirists. In 2007 Wired Magazine awarded them their annual Rave Award as "Viral TV Vidiots," citing their breakthrough efforts to re-energize and remix the comedy medium by combining "the attitude of hip hop, the styling of MTV, and the juvenile humor of cartoons." Their instincts for creating cutting-edge/laugh-out-loud digital shorts by the seat of their pants was also honored that year with a surprise Emmy win for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for the hilarious "D*** In A Box."

Jorma has guided most of the beats on previous Lonely Island efforts like "D*** In A Box," and "Lazy Sunday", capturing more-than believable music efforts in the midst of the group's frenzied comedic tempo. Jorma noted, "The more realistic musically we are, the funnier the song will be. It's like trying to do a good impression, the little details are what counts." Samberg says the group also relishes working with the featured musical guests. "We've always been thrilled to work with such great people on our stuff," he says. "I think they know they are in on the joke and not the butt of it. We have always been big hip hop and music fans all the way back to high school. Growing up in the Bay Area, hip hop and R&B was what informed us musically.

We've always loved E-40. And of course, working with Jack (Jack Black) is a dream because we've definitely been influenced by Tenacious D. When the first episodes of that show came out I was obsessed with them. One of the keys to their success is that Jack is incredibly funny, but there are also these great parts where the music holds up as well. We always viewed that as a lesson for us. Everything that comes out of The Lonely Island camp goes through a 3-man filter."

All the trademark Lonely Island sensibilities are intact on their debut album, their comedic quality control even reflected in the artwork and packaging of Incredibad. Theirs has always been an unforgiving editing process. They write, record, shoot and edit their projects together, with Akiva handling most of the directing duties. "A comedy song can be really funny, but you need the video with it to really drive it home. Plus, I love bossing Jorma and Andy around when we shoot them," says Akiva.

With TV and movie offers continuing to pile up, as well as a myriad of other creative possibilities on the horizon for 2009, the group is fairly realistic about The Lonely Island's much anticipated pivot toward the music industry. "The mission statement of this album is to be funny - period! For us, the comedy always has to come first." For three comedians whose viral vision and left-of-center musical instincts helped re-establish Saturday Night Live as a groundbreaking comedic force - or as online cultural tome Salon.com put it: "SNL found its 'way' again because of the 2005 breakout hit 'Lazy Sunday" - The Lonely Island guys are certain they're not harboring any loftier musical expectations. "Our only criteria throughout our careers have really been 'Does it make us laugh,'" says Andy. "We never concern ourselves with what happens after. We're grateful for all the success. We jumped at this opportunity because music has always been a big part of what we do. In a way, this album is our thank you for all that great musical inspiration."
