Was the Same Year Insight Started making Crazy noise in Boston. Over the years I would see Insight's name pop up on tracks everywhere I would look. Along side Lif and Akro, Nothing but Dope music was being released from this cat. So its A proud moment for me to see him releasing this application right now. He always had A good way of packaging his music and designing his website

KEVINKNOTTINGHAM.COM - THE WEBSITE YOU MUST BOOKMARK is BACK ONLINE!!!!!

WORDS FROM THE HERO

I just checked my email as I usually do when I wake up, only difference between now and a few weeks ago, is instead of waking up and just getting to business as usual, I'm forced to go thru A mission impossible type routine each morning and quietly sneak into my brothers room and quickly dismantle his laptop which is hooked up to his Flat screen and Xbox 360 without waking him up being I am the only one who wakes up so early.

So, I noticed A email from my most frequently visited website KevinKnottingham.com which Is displayed word for word below.....

www.KevinNottingham.com

"KevinNottingham.com is offline permanently until further notice.
After being threatened by my hosting company to take the site down for overloading server resources, I found a new host. Spent the last 24 hours moving everything over to the new server. After moving it to the new server, it crashed their server within an hour and they have suspended the site. Not sure when it'll be back online, but there's nothing I can really do at this point except wait to find out what the problem is. We'll be back after all this gets straightened out. Please spread the word. Thanks!

WORDSfromtheHERO Continued.....
Well, 1st thing I thought of was to post his email on The HsH for a few reasons, I wanted to help spread the message he was trying to send and I wanted to shine light on the Website that pops up in my history more than any other website. KEVINNOTTINGHAM isn't your usual Tastemaker Website featuring Gadgets and Clothing and Whatever Flash in the pan Artist is hot on all these other blogs.... KEVIN'S site is focused on HIPHOP music PERIOD. In all forms, Everything from Underground Heavywieghts, to more Radio Friendly and even Unknown artists. He has A Section for Producers, New albums and my personal favorite (the reason I am on the site so often) An "Original Samples" section which features Sample sets of the original songs sampled to create the most Classic of hiphop albums. Another great section for musicians looking for an outlet for their music is Kevin's feature he titles "THE INBOX" which is A section dedicated to all the misc music that is sent directly to him thru-out the week in question.

The Inbox / Kevinknottingham

"I’ve decided to extend the inbox to anything that gets sent to me that I don’t put up, not just the unknown artists. There are cats that are leaking stuff every week and I just don’t get a chance to get it all online. But this feature will only be music that is sent directly to me. These posts are great if you like goodie bags. You never know what gems you may find in here." - KevinKnottingham

Whatever your flavor way be, KEVINKNOTTINGHAM.COM will definitly meet your demand. So it was A big relief when I went to the website during the creation of this post and noticed an UPDATE that the issue has been resolved and KN is back online!!!!! Tho everyone is always telling me not to promote other websites on my blog/website because it will draw away my readers/subscribers... I am more than happy to send my readers to another amazing website, In fact once I get my Macbook back online (IF I GET IT BACK UP and RUNNING) I am going to LAUNCH my SECOND Website which I will keep the concept under wraps for the time being. For now go Ahead and read the Update posted below strait from Kevin's Mouth (or Keyboard) himself! and then, LEAVE THE HOBBYSHOP HERO and GO VISIT KEVINKNOTTINGHAM.COM!!!!! (but please come back hahahah)

UPDATE!!!!!!!!! <----------------

"Looks like overnight the site came back online. I was up last night with the technical support guys trying to figure out what the hell went on. The way they explained it at first, it sounded like I wouldn’t be able to put the site back up unless I rebuilt it from scratch. So I sent a mass email out to tell everyone that the site would be gone until further notice. Some of you may be just now getting that email, checking the site and saying, “what’s he talking about, it’s online now!” lol Well, for now anyway.

Looks like the culprit of our server overload was a Wordpress plugin. I’m still not sure which plugin it was, so a lot of unessential plugins have been disabled. I have a feeling it may have been the flash widget that used to sit up at the top of the site. At any rate, we’re back online for now. I’m gonna take some time to day to update content and get us going again. Hopefully the problem has been contained and we can move on like normal!" - [Kevin Nottingham]

SOLEBOX x PUMA R698 // Sneaker Freaker #15 GLOW IN THE DARK

Solebox x Puma R698! LIGHT / DISCO

http://www.solebox.com
_
Solebox x Puma R698 The R698 runner is a great performance shoe based on Puma's Trinomic technology. If you ever wore a Puma Disc or the Blaze of Glory, then you will know how comfy these are. The perfect shoe for the night out avoiding random renegade Sneaker scuffers. The Laces are A concept that has been displayed before in demo mode, Remember those flashing laces? Well, they are plastic coated wires, which are active glowing. You press the On Button and the laces start to do their job. They only blink if you walk. So if you stand still, The lights will remain on and stop blinking. Suede and mesh materials were used as most performance sneakers do. Being categorized as A white shoe, the black & steel gray base work well w/ the Subtle Blue and Florescent pink accents. A reported 500 pairs made available isnt the best news being they were released A few days ago, the 18th of April (The day of Solemart). At 1st, they will only be sold instore @t solebox in berlin, but the remaining pairs going online same day or a day later.

Also, in conjunction with the release, Sneaker Freaker is having a launch party at Revovler Upstairs on May 1st at 7pm. Revolver Upstairs is where the first edition of Sneaker Freaker started, and the launch party goes back to the magazine’s roots for some reminiscing.

A HsH producer spotlight starring: KIXNARE (2 FREE DOWNLOADS)

THE HOBBYSHOP HERO
Proudly Presents....
Super(Classic)Producer / DJ
KIXNARE

WORDS FROM THE HERO

I was 1st introduced to KIXNARE by my dear friend and Amazing Musician Will Widdoss. Apparently KIXNARE had done a few tracks w/ Will for his Debut mixtape "VENTILATION" but due to the enormous amount of music content out there as well as my limited attention span, it wasn't until months after Will 1st put me onto kixnare that I actually got a chance to check out his stuff.

KIXNARE is one of the Few SUPERPRODUCERS of the NEWSCHOOL that kept to the philosophy "IF ITS NOT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT" He manages to piece together Instrumentals that Rival any and every current producer surrounding him and does it w/ A touch of nostalgia, When I Hear A track from KIXNARE It sounds like A Track that should have been on NAS "Illmatic" or Biggie smalls "Ready 2 Die". A few producers I know of can pull this off w/ ease and style: Kixnare, Dela, The Deepnotes, jewbei, just to name a few. Now, don't get me wrong im not one of those whom are stuck in the past and refuse to accept progression. In fact I can honestly say Among those of whom I just mentioned in my favorites who can pull off a Classic Golden Era sound. I Also love the Out of this world, Advanced Styles of cats like Mono/poly, Afta-1, Take, Lotus, Samiyam, Illmind, etc....

But Enough of the explaining. Today We shine our BAT Symbol Spot light on KIXNARE and his humble contributions to this culture. I have been meaning to post his "Class of 90's" mix since a little after I started the HsH but never got around to it. So when Kix hit me up and sent me a link to his new mix he did for and in collaboration w/ http://tenisufki.eu I knew that I would finally have my chance to spread this dope mix. Good thing is now instead of just one Mix, You get Two.

"Fresh Squeezed Juice" is a mix displaying Kixnare's DJ side, while "Class of 90's" Diplays Kixnare's Production over classic Accapella's from the BoomBap Golden Era. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. - HsH

P.S. The Kixnare / Dutchmassive Collabo track will be posted soon.

NINTENDO: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (I-Mockery List)

WORDS FROM THE HERO

I gotta say party people, I was very pleased to stumble across I-mockery.com . I know........I know...... I'm probably one of few people in the universe who visits and falls in love w/ as many sites as I do but this site is a little different and by that I mean Special. I haven't spent more than 15 minutes on the site yet cus I just found it, but from skimming thru it and noticing the similarities in content and themes I can tell I found a new spot to add to my daily/weekly rounds. I can Also tell from the content and the owners posts that The Hobbyshop Hero is A site He would really love. Probally the Biggest differences are that I Focus on HipHop or
Forward-Thinking-Dope music in General and Art and Fashion and They focus more on Pop Culture, as where we both center our sites around The Cult Classic Nintendo Generation Style Content.

That Said, I really enjoyed what I saw of the site but that isnt how it came to end up being posted on HsH. I went ahead and copy and pasted in between the Plus signs the Exact post from I-Mockery and I will tell you why. He explains his love for the original NES and all the Amazing things that came inside that big box and to my surprise he proceeds to talk about the akward shaped Styrofoam packaging inside. He talks about using it as A Snow-Battle G.I. JOE Base and talks about his love for Storm Shadow and how he always won. Well Here is the Creepy and Oddly funny but dope thing about this situation.

http://www.yojoe.com/action/88/88card/stormshadow2m.jpg

One of my Best Friends Mike (Shwagner) Wagner/Crosaro Did the EXACT and I MEAN EXACT thing w/ that NES STYROFOAM....As Well as Other STYROFOAM! It was The SNOW BASE and The EXTRA CRazy NESS was I Always Used STORM SHADOW
(2nd Generation even tho I used the 1st as well just not as my main character) and Shwag used Quick Kick..... Later down the line I started using SALVO as my main Character but NoneTheLess that Is FREAKING CRAZZZZY..

On Top of that, What caught my Attention in the 1st place was his comments on the Zelda Watch. The same thing He said in the paragraph about the Zelda watch I did as well, except I remember vividly playing it while in Chorus the day we got to take those little gay Recorders (plastic Flute Thingy) Home.... So that is Two Childhood memories almost Identical so it makes me wonder how many of us grew up enjoying the same Amazing toys and games the exact same way! I Also had this Cereal which didnt last very long on the market and wasnt that tasty anyway....... I guess thats it for now tho, Go ahead and check out the links below that I got from I-Mockery and then check out the rest of the site.

OH!!!! one last thing before I go, Does anyone Remember that Nintendo Game show that game on early morning before School. where at the end of the show that got to run thru this Maze and Grab as many Games and Items as possibe and velcro them on to there body..... Leave a Comment if you remember that and what it was called hhahahaha...peace.

The Nintendo Entertainment System - Deluxe Set!

by - Rog-

www.I-Mockery.com

Words cannot even describe how good it felt to get one of these when I was a kid. Not only did you get the classic Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and Gyromite, but you also got the Zapper gun and ROB the Robot. So much gaming goodness all packaged neatly into a giant box that a hobo could probably live in. What more could a kid with a desire to procrastinate doing his homework want?

And the styrofoam this system came with was nothing to laugh at either. While most kids probably just threw out the styrofoam, I had to find a use for it. After all, it's not every day that you get a giant piece of styrofoam that could make a PERFECT G.I. Joe "snow battle playset". Damn straight! I remember pretending all the Joes were having a big battle at the North Pole. Of course, none of the Joes could see Storm Shadow coming, since he was a white ninja and camouflaged with the styrofoam perfectly. Not that it would have mattered even if they could see him. Out of all the fake G.I. Joe battles I created as a kid, I cannot think of a single one that Storm Shadow didn't win. So what if I was biased? He was a ninja for chrissakes! You think "The Fridge" figure could stop Storm Shadow? Wrong.

Styrofoam aside, the system really was the most important thing in life when it came out, and I'll be covering both the Zapper gun and ROB the Robot later on in this piece. Use the list below for quick access to individual items, or you can be a good little gamer and view them in order by moving onward to the NEXT ITEM.
