I have always wanted to be able to create Visual's whether it be a photo, video, or just anything to accompany the music I create. My dear friend Michael (Mishoo) pulled off such A heart felt video.... and it made me feel so wonderful....... This past Month I was Blessed by the heavens to have met the most Amazing woman in the world...... and I know I know....Everyone says that the person that they are diggin is the best, but its not even like that yo, This woman really does embody every single quality that me personally, Dutch VonEpp Ziegler have been searching for my entire life......... So it's crazy how many hours out of the 24 hour day, I am in day dream mode, shooting videos in my head of us walking on a beautiful day, circling around her as she stares forward not even paying me no mind, but the vibe and the visuals in my head are so peeeerfect...... I really Would like to get my hand on this dope camera
I tried to show my "Ms Unobtainable" this footage of this camera because I know she has such a deep passion for photography, as well as music as well as......(sigh) Flutter Flutter....
Dear friends and followers, Here is my little music video for Home sweet Home. It's self-shot, on a sunny Finnish winter day in my car. I've had fun recording it with my DV camcorder. First thing I do next year is to invest into film equipment for future projects. Today is A special day for me, It is a Special day for The Hobbyshop Hero in general and A special day for the world wide web. Today, JANUARY 4th TWO ZERO ZERO NINEis the OFFICIAL release of the long awaited EP from Emcee | Producer MISHOO the Drumkit.
That means that 7 carefully, well crafted wav's of Audio infused with positive energy, raw talent and an unexplainable amount of Sonicly tuned lows and highs are Available for Download. You might have already noticed that for the 1st time in the history of The Hobbyshop Hero that there is Audio Playing. The Song you are hearing is the Opening track, the Welcome mat if you may to the EP. The 1st track is called "All for one" produced by Elaquent.
The EP is One breathtaking song after the another and even tho its only seven tracks Strong. Each song is So Powerful and well put together that you forget it is only an EP.
The Talent that Mishoo pulled together on this project is off the charts. Each track has an Amazing combination of Inspiring, humble and unforgetable lyrics & Full Rich Sonicly Layered Compititions of production which surpass the mere term "Beat" Together with well placed cuts & The Vocal assistance from Mr. Nnaji & Shaunise and just A Dash of Cameo from The Hobbyshop Hero, Dutchmassive .
I admit, I have come across alot of music that I enjoy. I am a huge fan of Music, Sounds in general so I tend to find most music Classic, not because I am easily impressed, but because there has been a immense flux of amazing music being released the past few years.But "Born in the land of A thousand Hills" is not like other albums, I get A very specific and vivid emotion off of this release. From start to Ending, I truely believe this was destined to be created, and released into the airwaves, to reach ear and soul and ear and soul and keep spreading. This is the Perfect Album. and the thing is.......... Its only the EP!!!!!!!!
When Mishoo asked me to be involved in this project, or more so... When I asked him.... I didnt realize how much he was going to put into this album. Not everyone treats they're projects with such detail and love. But Ive known from previous Mishoo tracks that anything he was doing I would love to be Apart of. When I wrote my verse for "I cant stop", I had no idea that the verse I wrote would fit and finalize the album so perfectly. I remember getting the beat, which is produced by Comfort Fitand putting it along with another Comfort Fit beat for A Collabo for his album "Polyshufflez" on the Mix..... I walked down to the Beach with my headphones and jumped from rock to rock until I was A quarter mile in the Ocean surrounded by water and seeing the Sun Set...... It is on those rocks, I wrote my verse for I wont Stop.
I will never forget the experience of creating my piece of this album, and it makes me think, what was Mr Nnaji doing when he wrote, or shuanise, I wonder what was behind the creation of this album. Because everyone gets to hear the final result. but it is how the result came to be that makes it what it is. hahahaha Thats Enough Deep Thoughts with The Hobbyshop Hero for one day, I hope you enjoy this release as much as I do. Rwanda, the land of the thousand hills is the birthplace of MC/Producer Mishoo the Drumkit, who is releasing his first EP as a solo artist these days.
Born Michael Rugamba Negele, to a Rwandan mother and German father in Kigali, Mishoo was first exposed to African music by artists such as Pepe Kallé and Fela Kuti. It wasn’t until his family moved to Tübingen, Germany that he got into hiphop. He began writing poems at fourteen which turned into penning rap lyrics shortly after, influenced by the likes of HeavyD, Common and Wu Tang Clan’s “Enter the 36 Chambers” LP.
Little time after that, in 1998 he founded the group "A‐Scholars" with DJ Madsen and Producer JP aka Kutty Sark, which would eventually result in the production of the album “Mastermind” around 2002, a collection of soulful, jazzy beats and personal storytelling raps. The production allowed for Mishoo to develop his skills as both an MC and songwriter providing smooth vocals carried by his low voice. Around that time he also co‐founded a weekly hiphop event in his hometown Tübingen along DJ Sebastian Pohlmann thus providing a new forum for the local hiphop scene and helping local artists to connect. One notable result is another project of Mishoo’s – “The Sagitarians”, a collaboration of his with producer Jewelz. In 2006 he realized an idea he’d long had, namely forming a live band to perform "A‐Scholars" material with instruments being heavily influenced by the type of sound of the Soulquarians or Roy Hargrove.
When moving away from Tübingen for studies, Mishoo concentrated on beatmaking and production but stayed busy as an MC collaborating with plenty different producers from all over the world, some of whom he’d only connected with through MySpace and other music networks much like how “The Foreign Exchange” LP came together, logically one of Mishoo’s favorite albums.
Coming back to the basic idea, “Born in the Land of a Thousand Hills”, as the title of his new EP reads, is very much a documentary of the path Mishoo the Drumkit has traveled as an artist and a person as he mostly draws from his own life experiences, incorporating his growing up in both Africa and Europe, his travels or people close to him in his music. “Born in the Land of a Thousand Hills” features an array of young artists that crossed Mishoo’s path over the years, such as producers Comfort Fit, Portformat, Hubert Daviz, Elaquent, Duktus, Swede:art, Drumatic, and MCs/vocalists Dutchmassive, Mr. Nnaji and Shuanise with DJs Madsen and Mawdee contributing cuts and scratches.
The sound is truly soulful, yet with an often electronic approach inspired by the distinct Detroit sound of producers like J Dilla and Karriem Riggins; …however every track has a certain abstract twist to it while never forgetting its Hip Hop roots – Mishoo calls it ‘electro soul’.
